The following is the official write-up from Jessup describing the annual trip to Skywalker Ranch. If you didn’t read my previous post, you can do so here.
"Jessup University music students get to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to record albums at the world-renowned Skywalker Ranch, home to one of the most prestigious recording studios in the world. Students work directly with multi-Grammy award-winning engineers, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in a professional recording environment. This extraordinary experience elevates students’ musical education while creating life-changing memories that will impact their future careers in the music industry."
This is a more truthful description of the trip that I’m offering the students.
"Jessup University music students are proudly offered what the brochures call a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to record at the legendary Skywalker Ranch - because nothing says serious musical education like a carefully staged trip to one of the world’s most famous studios. There, students briefly brush shoulders with multi-Grammy-winning engineers while soaking up just enough of the professional recording atmosphere to make for impressive social media posts. Naturally, this “extraordinary experience” is said to elevate their musical education and provide unforgettable memories - if not quite the transformative career launch master storyteller Tom Ruscica promises."
